i/o Opens World’s Largest Modular Data Center

Existing i/o Customers Have Already Purchased DCaaS™ Capacity at i/o NEW JERSEY

PHOENIX, Ariz.Mar. 23, 2011i/o Data Centers (“i/o”), a leader in digital energy technology, today announced the opening of the world’s largest modular data center in Edison, New Jersey, which will be called “i/o NEW JERSEY”. Several enterprise customers have already purchased Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) capacity at i/o NEW JERSEY and additional capacity is available for delivery. i/o NEW JERSEY joins i/o PHOENIX (recently recognized as the seventh largest data center in the world) and i/o SCOTTSDALE as part of i/o’s North American data center footprint.

In making the announcement, George D. Slessman, CEO of i/o, said, “i/o now controls two of the largest data centers in the world and has the ability to deliver Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) across the entire continent of North America.” Slessman added, “We can bring a data center of the magnitude of i/o NEW JERSEY online immediately because of our i/o ANYWHERE™ modular data center technology. Today’s announcement reinforces why the world’s largest enterprises rely on i/o for always-on data center solutions.”

i/o NEW JERSEY is located in an 830,000-square-foot plant previously occupied by The New York Times. The data center is located at Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike and is readily accessible to New York City, Newark Liberty International Airport, all of greater New Jersey, Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic region. i/o NEW JERSEY is located next to one of the largest and most robust power switching stations in the region. The site has in-place fiber optic connectivity from two of the largest IP backbones in the world and i/o has commitments from several additional carriers to serve the New Jersey data center.

i/o NEW JERSEY, the company’s third data center, offers up to 100 MW of UPS capacity or 35,000 cabinet equivalents delivered in colocation cabinets, secure partial modules, dedicated modules and dedicated, multi-module systems. i/o provides its Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) offerings to a 100% uptime Service Level Agreement.

“Unlike traditional data center real estate projects that take years to build, i/o NEW JERSEY will have capacity available immediately. This is because we manufacture the data center infrastructure at our factory and deliver it when customers need it,” said Anthony Wanger, i/o President.

Information on i/o NEW JERSEY data center capacity is available at www.iodatacenters.com/newjersey and at 480-513-8530.
