FAIRPOINT COMMUNICATIONS DELIVERS ANOTHER FIRST: VOICE MAIL NOW AVAILABLE IN ISLAND POND, LUNENBURG AND WESTMINSTER

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (March 23, 2011) – FairPoint customers in Island Pond, Lunenburg and Westminster can now get voice mail for the first time.

FairPoint began rolling out the new IP-ready voice mail in mid-October.

FairPoint‟s new voice mail includes features that go well beyond just taking messages.

“Since FairPoint took over the northern New England business in 2008, it‟s been our goal to build a voice mail system that offers great features now and is ready for future „bells and whistles,‟” said Mike Smith, FairPoint state president for Vermont.

Standard to any voice mail package are: reminder calls, wake-up calls, group lists and the ability to send messages to other subscribers without actually calling them. Extra mailboxes are available in some packages.

Customers who sign up for FairPoint‟s Voice Mail Central also can utilize their home mailbox to store cell phone messages and also have a text message sent to their cell phones when a new message is deposited in their mailbox.

FairPoint customers, who sign up for the new voice mail, will receive a welcome package for by mail, which includes a user‟s guide.

Prices start at $4 per month. For more information, residential customers can call 866-984-2001; business customers should call 866-984-3001.
