Colin Whitbread Joins Global Crossing as Vice President of Operations for EMEA

LONDON – Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider today announced the appointment of Colin Whitbread as vice president of operations in EMEA.

“Colin has an impressive track record in delivering successful operational management within organisations such as the BBC, France Telecom, NTL, Thus and Telewest,” said Ted Higase, managing director for Global Crossing EMEA.  “His expertise in delivering improved customer experience and change management initiatives will be very well placed in a rapidly growing and dynamic organisation like Global Crossing.”

A customer-centric professional with over 20 years experience in the telecoms and media sectors, Whitbread is responsible for network operations centres, engineering, logistics and field operations functions across EMEA.

The appointment of Whitbread closely follows the arrival of three other senior executives at Global Crossing: Ian Pearson, advisor and senior vice president of business development; Nigel Stevens, chief marketing officer for EMEA; and Jeff Parris, senior vice president of business development, with particular responsibility for the UK public sector portfolio.
