Groundbreaking Invention: New MagicJack Plus with Free Phone Calling May Use Small 4G, Wi-Fi Modules or Ethernet, No PC Required

VocalTec to demonstrate the new magicJack Plus tonight at CES, combining a computer and magicJack on a single chip providing superior voice quality

Las Vegas, NV – 2011 International CES– Jan. 6, 2011 – VocalTec Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq symbol: CALL), the company that invented voice over IP (VoIP) and sold over seven million magicJacks®, will demonstrate the new magicJack Plus for the first time tonight. This first-of-its-kind device takes the concept of the magicJack and adds a processor and memory to its own developed system-on-a-chip (with over 14 functions now) to completely leapfrog its competition for months to years to come with the lowest price point. With the magicJack Plus (about the same footprint of a domino) you may use a small Wi-Fi or 4G module to supply high speed wireless Internet access, or plug directly into Ethernet. This means users will be able to use their magicJack Plus wirelessly and without a PC. The magicJack Plus also works like the original magicJack, by simply plugging the device into a PC through the USB plug. Now you can have your cake and eat it too. Simply plug a phone into one side of the magicJack Plus and a small power cord into the other side to make free, high-quality calls.  The magicJack Plus will be demonstrated tonight at the ShowStoppers media event in Las Vegas. VocalTec believes magicJack Plus covers all of your needs for home and traveling phones and anticipates this new invention will end up selling in the tens of millions. Further, with the magicJack Plus you can literally install and make your first call within seconds; ease of use remains at the top of our list as always.

Pricing is expected to be $49.95 for the magicJack Plus, which includes one year of free local and long distance calling and you may choose to have your own phone number. We expect more and more businesses will be using the magicJack Plus, as we enable the user to configure features, including hunting groups, by themselves. Availability of the magicJack Plus is expected within 90 days. Anyone who is fortunate enough to listen to the outstanding voice quality at CES will be shocked using the new magicJack Plus. We believe it is now better than not only your cell phone, but maybe better than your traditional landline too, particularly when using HD Voice. To get a glimpse of the quality, try magicTalk at magicTalk.com. magicJack Plus has hardware echo control and has been fine-tuned to produce exceptional voice quality without interference from a PC.

VocalTec will show and demonstrate the magicJack Plus with 4G, magicTalk over 4G and Wi-Fi, iPhone® app using Wi-Fi and the magicJack Plus using Ethernet or Wi-Fi tonight at the ShowStoppers media event from 6 – 10 p.m. and at a private media party from 8– 11 p.m. in the Wynn Tower Suites (#207) adjacent to the ShowStoppers ballroom.  Please stop by our table (C17) at ShowStoppers or contact Kari Hernandez at kari@ink-pr.com for access to the private event where we are giving away over 300 original magicJacks to everyone who visits.
