Atlanta, GA – Jan. 13, 2011 – Birch Communications, a leading IP-based telecom and managed services provider for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today the promotion of Tom Stachowiak to Vice-President, Information Technology. In his new role, Tom will report to Birch chief operating officer Chris Aversano, and will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the information technology needs of the company.
Tom has held progressively increasing management roles at Birch during the past 6 years. Prior to being named to this new role, Tom served as Vice President, Engineering. Mr. Stachowiak is a 14 year veteran of the telecommunications and information technology industries. Prior to joining Birch in 2005, he spent several years building and operating VoIP soft-switches and application servers as well as conducting research on applying IP technologies to military command and control systems and distance learning.
