Capacity Media Names Allied Fiber as 2010 Judges Award Recipient at its Capacity Awards Ceremony

NEW YORK, New York (November 16, 2010) Allied Fiber announces today that Capacity Media has selected Allied Fiber as the 2010 Judges Award recipient in its annual Capacity Awards Ceremony. The Awards Ceremony was held last night in Amsterdam at Capacity Europe 2010.

The Capacity Awards recognize market players, who through applying effective techniques and strategies to their wholesale businesses have established themselves at the forefront of the wholesale telecoms industry. Capacity Media cites the following deciding factors in its selection of Allied Fiber: Allied’s new, innovative multi-duct design for intermediate and long-haul dark fiber access; and Allied’s plans to connect strategic locations between major U.S. cities, including data centers, wireless towers and rural networks, for further open access to this dark fiber.

“The judges felt that Hunter Newby was the obvious choice for his vision for a new paradigm in North American telecoms,” states Paul Collinson, Publisher, Capacity Magazine. “Not only his vision but also his will and commitment to changing the status quo with the formation of Allied Fiber, a company which aims to build a new nationwide dark fiber network across the US.”

“We are honored to receive this award from Capacity Media, a visionary publication in the telecom industry,” states Hunter Newby, CEO of Allied Fiber. “Allied Fiber is committed to providing the physical, long-haul and short-haul dark fiber, colocation and interconnection means which are vital for the next generation of networks.”

Allied Fiber is addressing the needs for increasing national broadband demand by providing much needed access to new dark fiber, colocation facilities and fiber-fed wireless towers on a network-neutral, open-access basis throughout the United States. The user community for these physical-layer services ranges from and includes submarine cable systems, large international and domestic wireline and wireless carriers and network operators to small rural carriers, cooperatives, cable television companies and data center operators.
