Certification simplifies accreditation process for customers
TelecityGroup, Europe’s industry leading provider of premium network independent data centres, has secured Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification for all its data centres in France. The certification ensures customers can easily secure payments and customer data, and simplify their own PCI DSS accreditation processes.
Endorsed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a body founded by the world’s major credit card companies, PCI DSS compliance is a requirement for any company that stores, processes or transmits cardholder data. According to a survey by the Ponemon Institute, 79 percent of large companies have recently experienced financial data loss, yet 60 percent say that their organisation does not have sufficient resources to achieve compliance with PCI DSS.
Although TelecityGroup does not directly process banking data, the Group’s PCI DSS certification shows that it can provide the highest level of protection of its customers’ data hosted in its facilities. As a result, customers of TelecityGroup France will be able to simplify their accreditation processes to the standard.
TelecityGroup’s three data centres in France were certified following a comprehensive audit conducted by Trustwave, the leading provider of compliance and security management solutions for data on demand. The audit confirmed that all of TelecityGroup France’s facilities meet the strict certification standard required, including physical access controls and information security policies and procedures. All TelecityGroup data centres in the Netherlands and the UK have also been certified PCI DSS compliant.
Stephane Duproz, Managing Director TelecityGroup France comments: “Due to the continued growth of the digital economy, an ever increasing number of financial transactions are being conducted online. Highly secure facilities are crucial to ensure the data from these transactions is secure, but the cost and complexity of achieving this is challenging for many companies. By offering PCI DSS compliance through our data centre estate in France, we are helping our customers achieve this, and simplifying the compliance process for them.”
TelecityGroup’s three data centres in France have already achieved ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 for security processes, indicating the premium standard of the facilities.
