Technology donations awarded in Iowa Education Connections program

Four schools will share $70,000 from Windstream

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Four schools in Iowa will share $70,000 to be used for new technology as part of Windstream’s (NYSE:WIN, news, filings) Iowa Education Connections program.  The four schools are:

  • Nodaway Valley Middle School – Fontanelle
  • St. Francis Xavier School – Dyersville
  • West Delaware Central School District – Manchester
  • Charter Oak-Ute Elementary School – Charter Oak

The four were chosen among eight finalists based on a public online vote from Sept. 27-Oct. 15.

Nodaway Valley Middle School received the most votes and will receive a $25,000 donation from Windstream. The three remaining schools will receive $15,000 each.

Windstream received more than 700 nominations for Iowa Education Connections.  Fifty-two schools and 501(c)3 organizations applied for the program.  Eight finalists were chosen based on current technology resources and overall need.
