Juniper Networks Names David Shane to Lead Global Corporate Communications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 12, 2010 — Juniper Networks (NASDAQ:JNPR, news, filings) today announced the appointment of David Shane as vice president, corporate communications. Shane will lead Juniper’s global communications strategies and programs, including all media and industry analyst relations, social media and executive communications. He reports to Lauren Flaherty, executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Most recently, Shane was vice president of global corporate communications at Hewlett-Packard Company, where he was responsible for developing and managing the company’s relationships with key external audiences including media, industry analysts and influencers. Shane also oversaw strategic messaging for the company and led communications efforts for the company’s acquisition of EDS, 3Com and Palm.

Shane has 17 years’ experience in communications and media. Prior to HP, he was senior vice president at Weber Shandwick, where he led the agency’s Corporate Practice in Los Angeles and counseled top companies on crisis and litigation issues. Shane has also held senior positions in public relations at International Creative Management (ICM), one of the world’s largest talent and literary agencies, as well as at Comcast Corporation. He began his career working in television news for CBS.
