Infinera to Participate in CableLabs(R) Summer Conference Technology Demonstrations

SUNNYVALE, CA, Aug 11, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN, news, filings) will showcase the Infinera ATN metro edge platform and DTN digital ROADM at the CableLabs(R) Summer Conference on August 16th through August 17th at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center in Keystone, Colorado.

The Infinera ATN metro edge platform is designed to interwork seamlessly with the market-leading Infinera DTN platform to provide ease of use and point-and-click end-to-end service provisioning across any cable television network. Infinera’s integrated ATN-DTN networks eliminate back-to-back transponders where the metro edge meets the metro core and deliver CapEx and Opex savings over the life of the network.

At the Summer Conference demonstration area, Infinera will display the features and capabilities of the Infinera ATN and DTN on an innovative 3D interactive display. This display technology provides guests with an intimate virtual tour of the Infinera platforms, including line cards and interchangeable interface modules.

Infinera pioneered Digital Optical Networks with the Infinera DTN, a Digital ROADM based on large-scale photonic integration. With the new ATN platform, Infinera now offers an end-to-end solution providing scalable optical transport from the metro edge through regional networks and across the national backbone. The ATN has been deployed by service providers in the U.S. and Europe, including three leading U.S. cable operators. The Infinera DTN is widely deployed by MSOs, including all of the top five U.S. cable operators.

About Infinera Infinera provides Digital Optical Networking systems to telecommunications carriers worldwide. Infinera’s systems are unique in their use of a breakthrough semiconductor technology: the Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC). Infinera’s systems and PIC technology are designed to provide customers with simpler and more flexible engineering and operations, faster time-to-service, and the ability to rapidly deliver differentiated services without reengineering their optical infrastructure.
