Xero application performs 2.8 times faster on average with Akamai
Xero application performance in Australia increased by 241 per cent
Xero application performance in New Zealand increased by 235 per cent
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – June 22, 2010 – Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leader in powering video, dynamic transactions and enterprise applications online, today announced that Xero has chosen Akamai as its exclusive technology provider. Based in New Zealand, Xero is a global online accounting system provider designed for individuals, small businesses and their advisors.
By deploying Akamai’s Web Application Accelerator, Xero has boosted the average speed of its application by 180 per cent. This equates to the application operating 2.8 times faster than previously. Performance in Xero’s key markets has also been enhanced significantly. Akamai has improved the speed of the application by 241 per cent in Australia, by 235 per cent in New Zealand, by 184 per cent in the United States and by 190 per cent in the United Kingdom.
