360networks Deploys Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) Services for Velocity Networks

Integration with 360networks’ VoIP services helps improve quality of service for Velocity’s business VoIP customers

SEATTLE, WA – June 29, 2010 — 360networks, a facilities-based full service wholesale provider of VoIP, Private Line Transport, IP Transit, and Local Access services, today announced it has deployed Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) service for Velocity Networks, a provider of comprehensive managed technology solutions.  In addition to DIA, Velocity also uses 360networks’ Wholesale VoIP services to include IP Origination, Toll Free Origination and IP Termination.

By integrating DIA with 360networks’ Wholesale VoIP services, Velocity’s customers can prioritize VoIP packets across the 360 IP backbone and route directly to the Velocity VoIP platform for call routing and processing.  The direct routing will bypass the public internet and ensure low latency and the least possible hops.

“For our business VoIP customers, quality of service on DIA circuits is critical,” said Andy Day, director of engineering for Velocity Networks.  “With 360networks’ DIA and VoIP services we definitively demonstrated QOS improvements through lowering hop count and latency.”

“For Enterprise VoIP service providers needing to support IP access and high quality voice service, our DIA service deployed in conjunction with our Wholesale VoIP services offers a better alternative to buying T1s and voice from separate providers,” said Rick Coma, 360networks senior vice president. “We are proud to expand our relationship with Velocity, serving as their VoIP wholesaler for the western U.S.”
