BALTIMORE, MD–(Marketwire – June 28, 2010) – 24/7 Fiber Network, Baltimore-Washington, DC metropolitan area’s high capacity transport and dark fiber network provider, today announces the completion of Phase One of its fiber network expansion footprint. 24/7 now offers lit services, from 10GE scalable down to individual customer needs, from the Eastern Shore of Virginia thru Salisbury into the Baltimore-DC metropolitan region. With this new connectivity, 24/7 is able to access the underserved markets throughout the Delmarva Peninsula.

Notably, 24/7 has just completed and is offering both dark and lit services on a new 432-count fiber route that connects the 24/7 Baltimore Metro Network to the College Park, MD area inside the DC beltway, with further expansion into DC on the horizon. This network expansion marks 24/7’s commitment to providing cost-effective, high capacity bandwidth solutions connecting the Mid Atlantic Region which includes Washington, DC and the Baltimore metro area with the Delmarva Peninsula.

Already, 24/7 has secured right-of-ways and has begun engineering the next phase of this expansion. The new network build will connect the same underserved areas from Virginia and Salisbury through Delaware into the Wilmington Metro Region. Slated for completion by the 4th Quarter of 2010, this route will offer lit and dark services and cell tower backhaul to both the carrier and enterprise markets.

“This expansion news further illustrates our commitment to the viability of this region,” states Christopher Morris, Vice President and COO of 24/7 Fiber Network. “This is not speculative growth for its own sake; these builds are customer-driven and supported and we will continue to fill these needs and robustly expand in the area.”

Carriers, wireless operators, service providers and network operators throughout the region will be able to interconnect to 24/7’s network from its main facility located in the carrier hotel at 111 Marketplace in Baltimore, MD. The 24/7 facility is a 5,000 square foot Central Office grade location providing fully-dedicated colocation, managed services and 24/7 support while offering cross-connections to major Tier 1 and Tier 2 network providers connected to the building. For information about 24/7’s new network build, please visit www.247fibernetwork.com or email info@247fibernetwork.com.
