“We continue to see solid demand in this market. As our customers’ data infrastructure systems continue to grow, we’re able to provide just-in-time inventory to meet their needs,” said Laramie Dorris, director, data center design and construction, CyrusOne. “Additionally, with access to our National IX [Internet Exchange], customers have a superior level of interconnection across states and between CyrusOne sites.”

With this recent expansion, CyrusOne’s Sterling location now has a total of 75,000 CSF and a power capacity to handle 12 megawatts of critical load. At full build, the 14-acre data center campus is expected to accommodate multiple buildings, adding up to approximately 400,000 square feet of data center space, 36,000 square feet of Class A office space, and up to 48 megawatts of critical load. Located 10 minutes from Dulles International Airport and 30 minutes from Ronald Reagan Washington Airport, the Sterling location is conveniently close to dozens of hotels, restaurants, and other amenities.

Northern Virginia is home to one of the world’s largest clusters of data center real estate, and an estimated 70 percent of Internet traffic passes through Loudoun County. That means CyrusOne’s Sterling facility has direct access to one of the largest IX points in the United States. Moreover, superior fiber connectivity makes this data center ideal for colocation of high-performance computing.
