Carpathia – a QTS Company Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification for Colocation Services

DULLES, Va., Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Carpathia, a trusted provider of compliant hybrid cloud services and managed hosting, today announced that it has achieved an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for colocation services at Carpathia’s ultra-secure, Northern Virginia Vault facility, one of the industry’s most advanced data centers built to meet a superset of federal compliance and security mandates.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 formally specifies a management system that is intended to bring information security under explicit management control. Because ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is a formal specification that mandates specific requirements, organizations that have adopted it can be formally audited and certified as compliant with the standard.

The new certification is an important addition to Carpathia/QTS’ compliance accreditations. It was achieved as part of a Customer agreement with GovDelivery, a leading provider of secure cloud-based solutions for the public sector. GovDelivery had selected Carpathia to enable them to meet NIST 800-53 and AT101 SOC2 requirements.

QTS’ global cloud-enabled systems infrastructure (CESI) platform now includes Carpathia’s cloud-enabled managed hosting services that have evolved with each iteration of NIST standards and other stringent and diverse requirements, to deliver compliance across FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD RMF/DIACAP, HIPAA/HI-TECH, and PCI, among others. Carpathia’s highly compliant infrastructure-as-a-service platform expands QTS’ ability to provide cloud enabled managed hosting services as well as develop new hybrid cloud solutions on top of existing colocation infrastructure.

“QTS is committed to providing the largest selection of compliance services for our growing enterprise and Federal Government customer base,” said Peter Weber, Chief Product Officer. “The new ISO 27001 certification further augments our status as one of the most compliant platforms for delivering flexible and scalable IT infrastructure services globally.”

QTS acquired Carpathia in June 2015 and the combined company has oriented its business model around delivering IT infrastructure solutions that meet and exceed commercial, federal civilian, military, and Intelligence Community compliance mandates. With the addition of Carpathia, QTS now holds a number of certifications and accreditations across multiple federal agencies and programs and has achieved more than 50 Authorizations to Operate (ATO).
