Telx Plans To Build Flagship New Jersey Data Center Facility

Interconnection and Colocation Leader’s New Energy Efficient and Purpose-Built Cloud Connection Center Will Offer Enterprises Customized High Power Density Solutions

New York, NY (November 17, 2011) – Telx® announced today plans to build a purpose-built facility to support data centers, adjacent to its 100 Delawanna Avenue location in Clifton, New Jersey. The three-story, flagship data center will add 215,000 gross square feet of high power density, energy efficient space to Telx’s C3 Cloud Connection CenterTM portfolio. The Clifton Cloud Connection Center will provide 100,000 plus square feet of market-leading, customizable colocation space, meeting the growing requirements of global customers for heavily networked, outsourced solutions. Like all of Telx’s C3 Cloud Connection Centers, the new Clifton site will offer Telx’s InterConnection Center services, delivering advanced connectivity solutions that give customers access to a dynamic marketplace of service providers and the ability to deploy and leverage hybrid cloud solutions.

The standalone data center will be constructed with Mountain Development Corp., Telx’s current development partner at 100 Delawanna Avenue.  Telx plans to break ground in late 2011, and the entire building, including phase one of its data center colocation space, will be ready in late Q4 2012.

“The construction of this flagship facility demonstrates Telx’s long-term strategy to expand data center and interconnection services and gives our customers more choice and flexibility in available power density,” said Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “The newest addition to our C3 portfolio will share all of the dense carrier connectivity at 100 Delawanna, as well as direct interconnection to Telx’s other popular New York facilities at 111 8th Avenue and 60 Hudson, significantly increasing the value of Telx colocation for our customers.  In addition, customers will be able to connect to the Telx CBX Online Marketplace to discover and purchase other services including transport, managed services and unified communications from an unprecedented number of choices.”

Telx’s master plan for the building allows for highly customizable, configurable and fast to market entry data center deployment.   This approach to building out the data center infrastructure will include pods of varying power density that will be customizable to each customer’s needs. In addition, the facility will be constructed following green, energy-efficient standards in accordance with LEED requirements. The project is expected to initially add 20-plus jobs to the Clifton economy and an extensive number of contracting jobs.

Telx’s 100 Delawanna Avenue facility currently offers customers the ability to license private cages and cabinets and connect to more than 400 carriers, business exchanges, and enterprises, with a single connection. All Telx Cloud Connection Centers are equipped with state-of-the-art access control and surveillance systems. Telx Cloud Connection Centers provide a managed, carrier-neutral, secure environment for core interconnection networking elements for carriers, ISPs, content providers, financial services companies, and enterprise businesses. To address the Enterprise’s ever-changing security and compliance requirements, the Telx facility will be SSAE 16 and PCI compliant.
