ADVA Optical Networking Announces First 10Gbit/s Etherjack® Demarcation Device

Latest FSP 150 Supports Full Carrier Ethernet Traffic Management and OAM with 10 Times More Ethernet Service Capacity

ADVA Optical Networking launched today the ADVA FSP 150CC-XG210, an ultra-compact 10Gbit/s Ethernet service demarcation and aggregation device. The new product enables the delivery of differentiated Ethernet services up to 10Gbit/s with strict service level assurance for carrier and enterprise applications. Full traffic management and OAM are supported along with the following features:

  • Two 10Gbit/s network interfaces plus two slots for access interface modules with hot swap support
  • Variety of service protection options including ITU G.8031 and G.8032 for ring deployments
  • Standards compliant implementation of IEEE 802.3ah EFM link management, IEEE 802.1ag connectivity fault management, ITU Y.1731 performance monitoring, Y.1564 Ethernet service testing and embedded RFC 2544 service testing.
  • MEF-compliant Ethernet service definition.

The ADVA FSP 150CC-XG210 has been built from the ground up on Etherjack® and Syncjack® technology. This is the first product to deliver these two feature suites at 10Gbit/s line speeds and consequently provides unrivalled service monitoring and assurance. This is especially critical for service providers who offer mission critical data services and require robust synchronization and timing distribution over Carrier Ethernet networks.

“Based on the product’s full set of Etherjack® and Syncjack® functionalities, the deployment possibilities are manifold,” commented Stephan Rettenberger, vice president marketing at ADVA Optical Networking. “The new unit can be used in business services, wholesale services, as well as mobile backhaul. It is a powerful demarcation device for these applications and can also be deployed as an aggregation and ENNI solution further back in the network.”

“Today’s continued fierce bandwidth growth necessitates a true 10Gbit/s demarcation solution,” said Christoph Glingener, chief technology officer at ADVA Optical Networking. “We’ve taken our successful FSP 150 portfolio to the next level, delivering the full range of our industry-leading service definition and assurance at 10Gbit/s line speeds. The device boasts an extensive set of low-touch provisioning features for simplified installation and commissioning Service providers now have what they need to provide efficient and scalable Ethernet services throughout the network.”

The ADVA FSP 150 family of Ethernet access products provides devices for carrier Ethernet service demarcation, extension and aggregation to support delivery of intelligent Ethernet services. This allows service providers to ubiquitously deliver differentiated Ethernet services in business, mobile backhaul and wholesale applications. Designed to carry business-critical data applications, the ADVA FSP 150 simplifies the management and transport of bandwidth-intensive broadband services throughout the network, supporting service speeds up to 10Gbit/s.
