Virtacore Leverages Platform Equinix to Expand Hybrid Cloud Services Worldwide

Leading cloud services provider expands customer base with Equinix Marketplace and global network of data centers

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and Sterling, VA — November 3, 2011 — Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ:EQIX, news, filings), a provider of global data center services, and Virtacore Systems, Inc., an industry leader in hybrid cloud services, today announced that Virtacore has leveraged Platform Equinix™ to support its expanding customer base and world wide growth. Part of Equinix’s robust ecosystem of cloud and IT service providers, Virtacore benefits from the ability to quickly and securely interconnect with network and service partners in order to speed the deployment of its hybrid cloud services to enterprise customers.

Virtacore is currently located in Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers in four strategic markets—Silicon Valley, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC—and is the first customer to leverage Equinix Business Suites in its DC10 data center in Ashburn, Virginia. The Business Suites offering is ideal for cloud service providers like Virtacore that have multi-tier architecture requirements and also require a larger footprint service delivery environment that can be directly connected and fully integrated with their existing IBX infrastructure. Virtacore also plans to move into other Equinix IBX facilities around the world.

Virtacore selected Equinix as its strategic infrastructure provider to deliver its hybrid cloud services, including managed private cloud and public cloud, which are built on VMware’s vCloud Platform and managed through a single integrated portal, as well as Google Apps for Business technologies. Virtacore recently opened a storefront in the Equinix Marketplace to promote and sell its hybrid cloud services to the more than 4,000 customers that are a simple cross-connect away in Equinix data centers. With Platform Equinix, Virtacore can directly connect to customers and partners ensuring fast and secure delivery of its cloud services, as well as, develop new revenue streams within the Equinix Marketplace.
