DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. Announces Opening of Its ACC6 Phase I and SC1 Phase I Data Centers

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. (NYSE:DFT, news, filings) today announced that it has completed commissioning and opened both its ACC6 Phase I data center located in Ashburn, Virginia and its SC1 Phase I data center located in Santa Clara, California.  Both facilities offer turn-key, cost effective, reliable and network-neutral environments to satisfy the computing requirements of its tenants.

ACC6 is comprised of two identical phases, totaling 262,000 gross square feet, 132,000 raised square feet and 26 mega watts of available critical load.  Tenants at ACC6 can take advantage of the Company’s extensive multi-lateral telecommunications duct bank on its Ashburn campus and procure network connectivity from over twenty carriers located on the campus.

SC1 is comprised of two identical phases, totaling 360,000 gross square feet, 176,000 raised square feet and 36.4 mega watts of available critical load and includes a dedicated 100 MVA substation.  The Company’s SC1 data center is one of the largest data centers in Silicon Valley and boasts a two-lateral underground diverse telecommunications duct bank system with multiple telecommunications manhole vaults.  The facility currently has five carriers – AboveNet, AT&T, Layer 42, Silicon Valley Power Fiber Enterprise and Verizon – that are available for quick fiber deployment and to provide tenants with secure and diverse access into the facility.  Both dark fiber and lit services are available to tenants with access to the Bay Area’s major carrier exchanges.

“Delivering ACC6 and SC1 not only provides us with additional leasable space, but we have expanded our geographical presence into Silicon Valley with the opening of SC1.  We design and build our facilities with our tenant’s requirements in mind.  Our data centers provide the optimal environment for Cloud and other high-density server and storage applications being developed,” said Hossein Fateh, President and Chief Executive Officer of DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc.  “We have built strong on-site operations teams at each location to run, operate and provide our tenants with the data center expertise they demand.”

DFT will be hosting the 7X24 Exchange NorCal’s Chapter Meeting at its SC1 data center scheduled for Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (PT).
