LEIPZIG, Germany / TEL AVIV, Israel, June 8, 2021 – Rhebo, a Landis+Gyr company and Europe’s leading provider of OT monitoring solutions, announced its collaboration with RAD, a global industry pioneer in industrial IoT (IIoT) and edge computing solutions.
The technology partnership integrates Rhebo’s Operational Technology (OT) monitoring and anomaly detection solution within RAD’s SecFlow IIoT gateways. The combined solution allows utility and critical infrastructure operators to gain complete operational visibility and ensure cybersecurity of their remote assets.
Rhebo adds powerful substation-level monitoring with anomaly detection to the SecFlow’s built-in stateful firewall. As a result, novel attack patterns, malware activity, and technical errors can be detected and corrected before disruptions occur. The Secflow’s edge computing capabilities enable the hosting of Rhebo’s security solution as a container, avoiding the need to deploy additional appliances in the field.
“RAD’s Industrial IoT and utility customers are looking to protect their OT networks against cybersecurity threats with an integrated and powerful anomaly detection and protection solution,” said Ilan Tevet, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at RAD. “Rhebo is the perfect technological partner, with a market-leading OT cybersecurity solution and a broad range of customer references in the energy, power and water utilities, ICS, and Industry 4.0 markets. Together with Rhebo, we increase the value we bring to existing and potential customers.”
The RAD SecFlow portfolio includes ruggedized industrial IoT gateways with edge computing that provide secure connectivity over wireless or fiber optic networks to remote terminal units, smart meter aggregation devices, and IoT base stations in distributed utility systems. In addition to a built-in integrated router, firewall and LTE modem, the SecFlow features advanced functionalities such as a PLC, LoRaWAN gateway, protocol converter, and video surveillance DVR.
Rhebo’s Industrial Protector adds continuous OT monitoring with anomaly detection to the SecFlow’s market leading features and extends intrusion detection capabilities to the ICS/OT environment. This enables comprehensive asset inventory management for OT networks as well as identification of zero-day vulnerabilities and communication processes that might lead to malfunctions.
“For understandable reasons, operators of complex yet critical infrastructure want to install as little additional hardware as possible in their networks,” said Rhebo CEO Klaus Mochalski. “The integration of Rhebo Industrial Protector within RAD’s SecFlow follows this requirement and optimally combines network with control functions as well as end-to-end OT cybersecurity in a single device.”
