UAE-IX is growing and extending its presence to further sites and data centers in the United Arab Emirates at Khazna Dubai, Khazna Abu Dhabi, and a new point of presence at Smarthub Fujairah. The rollout is aimed to be completed and ready for service in summer 2021.
As latency requirements are getting lower and lower, it is becoming even more important to also bring interconnection services as close to people and businesses as possible. With the expansion to more locations, we are bringing easy interconnection to our customers anywhere in the UAE.
Interconnection for networks and enterprises
Alongside peering services, customers connected to UAE-IX also have access to our Cloud Exchange and a variety of cloud service providers. UAE-IX is also connected to DE-CIX Marseille, which enables participants to peer remotely with over 80 additional networks.
DE-CIX operates UAE-IX as a DE-CIX as a Service offering in partnership with datamena. UAE-IX serves more than 80 customers, comprising a mix of global enterprises, carriers, content providers, and emerging technology platforms. Since before the pandemic in early 2020, UAE-IX has increased its peak traffic by more than 60% to over 200 Gigabits per second (Gbps).
