VA’s Telehealth Services is designed to connect patients with their health care providers utilizing video teleconferencing technology to provide vital medical services to ensure veterans are receiving valuable health care services when they’re not able to attend in-person appointments.

The relationship with Sprint supports the organization’s vast telehealth program, which spans 900 sites across the country in 50 areas of specialized care. In fiscal year 2018, more than 393,000 veterans utilized VA clinical video telehealth services; of these veterans, more than 180,000 (45%) did so to access VA mental health services.

“It is truly an honor to support America’s veterans through this program, and we are confident it will help make the VA’s telehealth service accessible to more veterans than ever,” said Jan Geldmacher, president of Sprint Business. “Working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide these heroes free access to remote health care appointments is a priority for Sprint.”

“We thank our industry and community partners for their commitment to improving Veterans’ health care, in this case helping more Veterans access VA’s world-class telehealth program,” said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie.

“Veterans should never be denied access to quality health care and we are thrilled to be able to be part of a program that provides free access to appointments and other healthcare services,” said Chris Felix, vice president and general manager of government solutions for Sprint.
