Since its inception in 2000, DonorsChoose.org has raised more than $796 million dollars. That’s more than 1.3 million projects funded. More than 80,000 participating schools. More than 32 million students reached.
While the students and teachers may have changed over the last nearly two decades, one thing remains constant – teachers are constantly looking for innovative ideas and much-needed resources to equip their students with the knowledge and skills they’ll need to be successful. In the ever-evolving job landscape, often, the skills needed for career success are increasingly STEM focused.
That’s why we’re excited to launch the new DonorsChoose.org STEM Lab Supported by AT&T. The STEM Lab will help fund innovative STEM projects from teachers across the country. Beginning on March 4, qualifying projects will live within the digital STEM Lab here. From using virtual reality to explore ancient ruins to building 3D printers to create items for a local science club, these projects will represent the most unique thinking from classrooms of all ages and subject areas.
“DonorsChoose.org has been a pioneer in delivering much-needed resources into the hands of the most deserving teachers, those who are truly paving the way for student success,” said Mylanya Albright, AVP, Corporate Social Responsibility. “We’re excited to work with them to launch the DonorsChoose.org STEM Lab Supported by AT&T. We want this to be a destination for teachers to get the inspiration and resources they need to bring STEM skills-building projects into their classrooms.”
The DonorsChoose.org STEM Lab Supported by AT&T is made possible by a $250,000 AT&T Aspire contribution. Through the AT&T Aspire initiative, we’re helping to provide access to education and training people need to get and keep good jobs. Since 2008, we’ve committed $450 million to programs to help millions of students in all 50 states and around the world.
