The new southernmost river crossing, with an estimated completion date of November 2018, aims to service both dark and lit fiber services throughout the Northern NJ and Lower Manhattan markets.
NEW YORK– May 22, 2018– Global Inter Xchange(GIX), a New Jersey-based provider of diverse infrastructure routes, including wholly owned fiber infrastructure, servicing both lit and dark fiber services tying into data center services, and other major infrastructure aggregation hubs, announces an agreement with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey/PATH that will be in place for at least the next 20 years. Through this arrangement with the Port Authority, GIX will build and operate a new river crossing conduit system.
The management team of GIX is utilizing the engineering and construction firm of Metropolitan Communications Group(MCG) to complete the crossing and is projecting a final test and turn up of the network by November 2018.
The soon to be completed river crossing offers critical physical diversity as an alternative route that services North Jersey infrastructures connecting into and pulling out of New York City. GIX is initially offering preconstruction pricing on Dark Fiber leases, IRU’s and lit fiber services. Lit fiber services, up to 400 Gig, are being serviced on the route that extends all the way to 401 North Broad, Netrality Properties in Philadelphia.
