The Datacenter Group (TDCG) is to become a new POP (Point of Presence) for AMS-IX, the most important Internet Exchange worldwide. As a result of this expansion, AMS-IX will offer its customers additional diversity in the area of datacenter space.
Growing demand of network capacity
During a festive gathering, the multi-year contract was recently signed by the CEO of each respective company. In doing so, the two parties join forces in providing a larger supply of datacenters with AMS-IX connectivity. TDCG will also offer her customers in Delft the opportunity to use the AMS-IX POP in Amsterdam. Job Witteman, AMS-IX CEO, illustrates the budding partnership: “We see that the Dutch digital infrastructure keeps growing at an enormous rate. The Dutch datacenter market is even the fastest growing market in Europe. As neutral party we wish to spread our presence over a number of datacenters. This corresponds with the philosophy of the AMS-IX model: we believe in partnerships in a collaborative setting with other parties. In this way we have been strengthening the digital infrastructure of the Netherlands and the world for over twenty years.”
