AMS-IX has appointed Jesse Robbers as Chief Commercial Officer. Robbers arrives at AMS-IX at an exciting time: the Internet Exchange recently saw the number of connected networks increase to more than 800. Prior to joining AMS-IX, he held the position of Technical Director Benelux at Ericsson Broadcast & Media Services. He also has extensive experience in managerial positions at KPN.
“As one of the largest Internet Exchanges, AMS-IX plays a crucial role in the Internet Ecosystem which is constantly evolving. It’s my goal to strengthen and expand the position of AMS-IX in this changing landscape,” explains Robbers. “In my career I’ve always worked on the edge of Media, Telecom and Internet and I have seen traditional chains moving to open Internet solutions with Internet Exchanges playing a vital role.”
Job Witteman, CEO of AMS-IX: “The AMS-IX model is built upon the trust we receive from our members and customers. They determine the strength of our position in the digital economy. The role of CCO is thus essential to maintain and reinforce our position. We are extraordinarily happy to welcome Jesse to the organisation. He brings with him considerable knowledge and experience and I am confident he will help us grow further.”
