Breaking the Machine Learning Hype Cycle – August 3, 2016, 10:20am-11:10am PST – Mike Stute, Chief Scientist, will explore machine learning in cyber security. Machine learning is everywhere. Attendees will learn:
- The history of machine learning and where the technology is projected to go
- What machine learning can do and what it can’t do in general terms
- How to spot when the buzz around machine learning is something new or just an old idea with a new name
Building A Corporate Security Program From A to Z – August 3, 2016, 11:30am-12:10pm PST – David Venable, Vice President of Cyber Security, will discuss the importance of creating a strategic, corporate-wide security program. He’ll also outline how to put together an implementation plan and will explore methods to identify the benefits and ROI of an integrated cyber security framework. Attendees will learn:
- How to pull together various efforts into an integrated security strategy
- How to continually assess and amend your security program in response to real-world threats and business requirements
- How to adapt your security program to real-world risk and changes
“The growing importance of enterprise security has resulted in a flood of security solutions on the market, all touting advanced technologies such as machine learning,” says Stute. “It’s time to break through the hype and help IT professionals understand how machine learning and an integrated security strategy can help them better protect their organization’s essential assets.”
