ADVA Optical Networking launched today its new ConnectGuard™ solution. Engineered specifically to provide the most advanced data protection possible, ConnectGuard™ presents service providers and enterprises with unique solutions to secure their connectivity networks. ConnectGuard™ is available in two distinct variants. Firstly, ConnectGuard™ Optical for the ADVA FSP 3000 provides robust transport layer security and is ideal for data center interconnection applications that need advanced protection for the transportation of enormous data volumes. Secondly, ConnectGuard™ Ethernet for the ADVA FSP 150 delivers Ethernet layer security and is critical for protecting data as it travels across third-party packet networks.
“Today’s networks are more vulnerable than ever before. The frequency of attacks has never been higher and the ease of data interception has never been simpler,” said Christoph Glingener, CTO, ADVA Optical Networking. “As more and more mission-critical data moves to the cloud, it’s vital that service providers and enterprises reassess their network security strategies. Network-wide security is no small task and ensuring that your data is safe every step of its journey requires a fundamental shift in security processes. That’s why we’re introducing ConnectGuard™ to the industry. This is a solution that provides the most comprehensive data security possible. By encrypting data in motion we’re providing the strongest protection possible. Make no mistake, ConnectGuard™ is a line in the sand for network protection.”
ADVA ConnectGuard™ Optical has been designed primarily for data center interconnect applications that need to transport enormous amounts of data across geographically dispersed locations. It provides a transparent, wire-speed service for securing mission-critical data and incorporates a strictly separated encryption domain manager to ensure compliance with the most stringent regulatory demands. With a protocol-agnostic approach, ADVA ConnectGuard™ Optical can transport all storage area network protocols, including Ethernet, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand with line speeds of up to 100Gbit/s. As part of the ADVA FSP 3000, it eliminates the need for stand-alone security equipment, simplifying network operations and reducing the overall cost of data protection.
ADVA ConnectGuard™ Ethernet is vital for the continued success of cloud-based services, especially with the emergence of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). Significant shifts are taking place here that will leave data increasingly vulnerable. The new ADVA ConnectGuard™ Ethernet available on the ADVA FSP 150 enables scalable and secure Ethernet connectivity between locations on top of unprotected Carrier Ethernet networks. The integration of ADVA ConnectGuard™ Ethernet with proven Etherjack™ and Syncjack™ technology for detailed service monitoring and testing presents service providers with an ideal opportunity for differentiation. ADVA ConnectGuard™ Ethernet transforms traditional Carrier Ethernet network services into secure and encrypted connectivity.
“Our ConnectGuard™ technology is the culmination of our team’s deep understanding of network security and data protection,” commented Stephan Rettenberger, VP, marketing, ADVA Optical Networking. “It represents many years of research, design and development. Throughout our twenty year history, we’ve developed a specific focus on security, it’s a key component of our company’s success and underlines why our customers trust us. Over 200 service providers and 15,000 enterprises put their mission-critical data and ultimately their business in our hands. This isn’t something we take lightly. ConnectGuard™ is our vision for network security. It’s a blueprint that shows our customers how we’re going to continue protecting their data and their trust.”
