MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 8, 2010) FairPoint Communications continues to move forward with its effort to bring broadband service to 85 percent of the homes and businesses in its service territory by the end of 2010. For the first time, broadband is now available in Tamworth and Center Sandwich. Plus, additional neighborhoods in 34 other New Hampshire communities, including Enfield, Peterborough, Stoddard and Wakefield to name a few, now have access to broadband service from FairPoint. The complete list can be found below. These areas have been added to VantagePointsm, a fiber-based, high-capacity network that provides a better, faster way to access the Internet, connect through social networking and conduct business online.
FairPoint has invested more than $121 million in communications infrastructure and technology to bring VantagePoint to northern New England. With speed options as fast as 15Mbps, the VantagePoint network provides customers with the ability to smoothly stream live video, play on-line games at lightning speeds and upload photos and large files with ease.
“FairPoint has spent the last year and a half building a secure network infrastructure that will allow customers to transport data, voice and video content over a flexible and scalable network,” said Teresa Rhodes Rosenberger, New Hampshire state president for FairPoint. “This advanced technology enables broadband to be delivered to additional neighborhoods and allows FairPoint to offer its customers products that provide faster access to the Internet.”
Internet packages start at $35.99. For additional information about FairPoint high-speed Internet prices and bundled plans, residential consumers can call 1.866.984.2001 or visit www.FairPoint.com.
