LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Windstream (NYSE:WIN, news, filings), a leading provider of advanced network communications, will have two of its industry subject matter experts speak at the Big Telecom Event in Chicago, June 17-18 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. At the “big tent event” organized by Light Reading, Randy Nicklas, executive vice president of engineering and chief technology officer, and Chris Nicolini, senior vice president of cloud and data center operations, will share their expertise and participate in panel discussions on Tuesday, June 17.
The Big Telecom Event includes demonstrations of the latest networking technologies and educational speaking sessions designed to provide attendees with insight into the most current business strategies and industry trends.

On Tuesday, June 17, Windstream’s speaking engagements will focus on the trends and opportunities that exist with enterprise network solutions and cloud services.
At 1:30 p.m., Nicklas will participate in the “From 100G to 400G to…” discussion, as panelists explain what telecom customers should expect from their current network technology in terms of the requirements across the supply chain, including components, systems and operator perspectives. The panel will also address the industry’s current challenges and opportunities regarding high-speed DWDM transport, as related to both long-haul and metro networks, and preparing for the future of network technology.
Later in the afternoon, Nicolini will participate in the “Telcos & Enterprise/Vertical Cloud Services” discussion, examining the successes and challenges in the enterprise cloud market. The panel will highlight a variety of topics, including enabling carrier-grade IaaS, value-added cloud services portfolios and ways in which operators can differentiate themselves from the competition.
