CHASKA, Minn. p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: “Times New Roman”; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; }– During the week preceding River City Days, July 19 through July 23, local businesses will be collecting non-perishable food and items for Bountiful Basket and Love INC.
The organizations’ wish lists include: canned goods, cereal, peanut butter, toilet paper / paper towels, diapers, etc. A more extensive list can be found on the River City Days website: www.chaskarivercitydays.com.
Items can be dropped off at participating business locations:
- Boyer Construction, 3435 County Rd 101, Minnetonka
- CenturyLink, 164 Pioneer Trail, Chaska
- Klein Bank, 301 Chestnut St, Chaska and 120 Pioneer Trail, Chaska
- The Mustard Seed Garden Center, 6055 HWY 212, Chaska
- Park Nicollet, 300 Lake Dr E, Chanhassen
“River City Days is an event whose mission is to showcase and benefit the variety of the Chaska area service organizations we have in our community,” said Carrie Amann of CenturyLink, who is organizing the collection. “The addition of a food drive is to remind the community that efforts to fill shelves of local food pantries are needed year-round.” Again, it doesn’t end with food either. “There are so many things we use everyday that can benefit our neighbors,” said Mary Morley of Love INC.
Bins and boxes will be setup at each of the above locations for item drop-offs during the week of July 19. Larger items can be dropped off at the River City Days information booth during the festival Saturday July 24 or Sunday July 25.
Monetary donations will also be accepted. Cash donations can be used to purchase food through the state food bank; each dollar donated can be leveraged to purchase $9 in food. The event committee, Bountiful Basket and Love INC would like to thank (in advance) all participants/donors for their generosity.
