NEW YORK, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Sentinel Data Centers today announced that Level 3 Communications has extended its fiber network into each of Sentinel’s NC-1 and NJ-1 data centers. As a global Internet service provider, Level 3’s presence will further expand connectivity options for Sentinel’s rich universe of downtime-sensitive enterprise occupants.
“We are excited that an industry leader such as Level 3 has recognized our leadership position with discerning enterprises and has elected to invest in expanding to our NJ-1 and NC-1 data centers,” said Nelson Frye, director of business development for Sentinel. “Our tenants can now choose Level 3’s rich connectivity services over multiple fiber routes to get the right mix of bandwidth, latency, reliability and security for their businesses.”
“By strategically expanding our network to data centers that serve key growing markets, we can ensure that enterprises have access to the advanced communications solutions that help drive their efficiency and growth amid an increasingly global marketplace,” said Chris Sikora, regional vice president of Level 3’s Northeast Region. “We have worked with Sentinel for many years to great mutual success and are thrilled to support the enterprise communications needs of the tenants at their newest facilities.”
Level 3 Communications joins a rapidly expanding roster of network providers within Sentinel’s data centers. As a carrier-neutral, enterprise-class data center provider, Sentinel’s facilities offer potential tenants a wide diversity of providers from which to choose, insuring flexibility and price competitiveness.
Located in Somerset, New Jersey, Sentinel NJ-1 is a mega-scale enterprise facility that houses many of the largest enterprises in the New York tri-state area. Sentinel NC-1 is a newly constructed 420,000 square foot facility in Durham, North Carolina, the only carrier-neutral, enterprise-class data center in the region.
