Frontier to Expand IP Technology Presence and Products

STAMFORD, Conn., Mar 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Frontier Communications today announced an expansion of its portfolio of IP-based technology business services. IPConnect will be widely available for Frontier’s business customers within the company’s current footprint. IP Connect is one of several new IP technology products that will enhance Frontier’s IP portfolio in 2010, which now includes:

  • Managed IP Telephony – IP Centrex;
  • IP Connect – Targeted at customers with existing IP PBXs who can manage and configure their own telephone equipment; and
  • Frontier Managed PBX – Turnkey managed IP telephony services for small- to medium-sized businesses.

IP-based technology transmits voice and data communications via Frontier’s dedicated, secure IP backbone and network, rather than over the conventional Internet. With this investment in IP technology, Frontier will provide competitively priced voice and data services and be able to extend a “next generation” of applications to its customers nationwide.

IP Connect and Frontier’s other IP technology based solutions are completely integrated solutions for voice and data usage with a competitive long distance service, all through one service provider. These are versatile solutions that enable businesses to migrate to IP-based technology at their own pace, using their existing PBX equipment or through a Frontier managed PBX. IP technology provides a scalable, cost effective option that help businesses gain efficiencies, translating into lower costs and higher productivity.

“At Frontier, it’s our philosophy to treat our business customers as they treat their customers. We start with personal service and unrivaled local customer support,” said Robert Pettiford, AVP Commercial Products. “Frontier has world-class voice and data technology solutions, like IP Connect, that are right-sized for any business. Broadband and Internet technology options are critical for our business customers. Offering additional IP-based technology will enhance our product portfolio and help commercial customers get the solutions that they need – and nothing that they don’t. Together we build a custom solution that fits needs and helps businesses succeed despite a difficult economy.”

Frontier’s IP Connect is an IP solution for small- and medium-sized businesses that requires no capital investment by the customer and offers access to advanced voice and data services such as:

  • Web and mobile portal with:
    • Click-to-call directories
    • Call logging
    • Voicemail
    • Conferencing
