(NYSE:DFT, news, filings) today announced that the control procedures for its data centers that require SSAE 16 certification have been found to be suitable in design and operating effectively according to Service Organization Control Reports (“SOC1”). These were prepared under Statement of Standards for Attestation Engagement No. 16 (“SSAE 16”) by one of the Big 4 independent auditing firms.

SSAE 16 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for management to obtain assertions about service organization internal controls without conducting separate assessments. SSAE 16 is based on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board’s (IAASB) International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402.
