[Reading, UK, 21 January, 2014]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced that it has been named Responsible Supplier of the Year 2013 by Vodafone Group.
The Responsible Supplier Award recognises Huawei for its performance in Health and Safety (H&S) across the Vodafone markets and its full engagement with Vodafone’s sustainability and joint H&S performance. In presenting this award, Vodafone acknowledges Huawei’s commitment to fulfil its H&S requirements across 21 markets. Huawei was the first supplier to sign up to Vodafone’s H&S consequence management programme.
The award was presented by Ninian Wilson, Technology Category SCM Director, at the Vodafone Supplier Awards Ceremony in Woking.
Detlef Schultz, Global Supply Chain Management Director and CEO, Vodafone Procurement Company, said, “It means a lot to us to have a strong partner to help drive our health and safety agenda and this award is in recognition of Huawei’s commitment and performance in that area. Continuous improvement and innovation are important components of Vodafone’s Supplier Performance Management Programme, which evaluates supplier performance regularly. In 2009 and 2012, Vodafone Group named Huawei as their Global Supplier of the Year.
