AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T, news, filings) today announced that Dr. Gilbert Amelio has decided to retire from AT&T’s Board of Directors so he can devote more attention to a wide range of professional and personal activities.
Amelio, 70, has been an AT&T Director since 2001 and had previously served as an Advisory Director of AT&T from 1997 to 2001. Also, he was a Director of Pacific Telesis Group from 1995 until 1997 when the company was acquired by AT&T (then known as SBC Communications Inc.)
