Through Rigorous Testing Radware Achieves ICSA Labs Web Application Firewall Certification
MAHWAH, N.J. — Radware(R) (NASDAQ:RDWR, news, filings), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced that it has received certification from ICSA Labs for its Web Application Firewall (WAF), AppWall(R).
ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon, offers vendor-neutral testing and certification. ICSA Labs tests web application firewall products against a standard, yet evolving set of criteria composed of both functional and assurance requirements.
The 2.1 version of the ICSA Labs criteria accommodates the evolution and different functional requirements of today’s web application firewall market. The goal of ICSA Labs is to significantly increase user and enterprise trust in information security products and solutions.
Radware’s AppWall(R), available as a solution for the Enterprise, Cloud and Hosted Solution Provider, secures web applications through real-time mitigation of web application threats and vulnerabilities. It helps prevent data theft and manipulation of sensitive corporate information, as well as address PCI data security standards.
ICSA Labs testing and certification provides security professionals and application developers who deploy web-based applications with the confidence that Radware’s AppWall(R) performs as intended to secure those vital application services from exploitation and attack.
AppWall(R) was installed per the WAF ICSA Labs Certification Criteria, an environment designed to mimic and represent a real-world deployment of a Web Application Firewall. Web applications are protected as Network Security Lab analysts ran an ever increasingly sophisticated suite of web attacks, penetration tests, and scans against a set of websites protected by Radware’s AppWall® to verify WAF functionality.
During the simulation, Lab analysts also verified that AppWall® was not susceptible to commonly known vulnerabilities or exploits. This includes attacks targeting buffer overflow, cross site scripting (XSS), cross site request forgery (CSRF), improper input validation session mismanagement and information leakage.
“After undergoing rigorous testing through a highly accredited test facility, it was proven that Radware’s AppWall® successfully prevents data theft and manipulation of sensitive corporate and customer information,” says Michael Groskop, director of WAF for Radware. “This certification validates our commitment in protecting our customer’s critical web applications, in a scalable manner in order to increase their productivity and business agility,” added Groskop.
The certification report for Radware’s AppWall(R) is available at the ICSA Labs website via the following link:

“Our goal at ICSA Labs is to verify that products, such as Radware’s AppWall, perform as they are intended; otherwise, the consequences in this age of cyberattacks can be costly,” says Brian Monkman, technology programs manager, ICSA Labs. “According to Verizon’s 2013 Data Breach Investigations Report, 22% of all breaches are aimed at web applications, making the need to certify web application firewalls critical.”
