Industry best practice at PAR5 data centre highly commended by the win
LONDON, 14 June 2013 – INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE:INXN, news), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announces that it has been awarded Operational Excellence of the Year at the BroadGroup 6th International Datacentre & Cloud Awards 2013.
Organised by BroadGroup – a leading international consulting firm – the European awards ceremony, held in London on 13 June, celebrates the technical and commercial success of the data centre industry in Europe. The judging panel includes high-profile representatives from the consulting, end-user and vendor communities.
The Operational Excellence of the Year Award recognises the best practice principals in operation at Interxion’s PAR5 facility that the company has perfected across its European footprint during its 15 years’ data centre experience. The judges noted not only Interxion’s use of innovative technology, such as free cooling and a computerised maintenance management system, but also the comprehensive programme Interxion runs to promote excellence amongst data centre staff and minimise human errors.
Commenting on the win, Kevin Dean, CMO, Interxion, said, “We are proud to be recognised by the BroadGroup judges as an example of industry best practice. We have been dedicated to continuously improving the operations across our footprint of 34 European data centres since we pioneered modular data centre architecture in 2000 and we look forward to continuing our work with organisations such as the Green Grid and Uptime Institute, to set an example the whole data centre industry can follow.”
