Nespresso revolutionizes its Business Solutions after-sales services with Machine-to-Machine solution from Orange

Paris and Geneva, Feb. 21, 2012

Nespresso Business Solutions is enhancing its B2B coffee machine after-sales service maintenance with a customized machine-to-machine (M2M) solution from Orange Business Services.

Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, Nespresso is the pioneer and market leader in highest quality portioned premium coffee. Nespresso Business to Business solutions are designed to meet the needs of the most discerning hosts in the world’s foremost hotels and restaurants, as well as those of its professional business partners.

Nespresso has launched two revolutionary B2B machine models – Aguila and Zenius, the industry’s first connected tabletop coffee machines. These models use embedded SIM cards from Orange that enable the machines to communicate with the Nespresso Customer Relationship Centres. This two-way communication enables remote machine diagnostic and preventative maintenance visits can be scheduled as required.

Orange Business Services was chosen to provide this M2M solution based on its global capabilities, its local Swiss team presence and M2M expertise, and the customized solution that includes global data security measures required by Nespresso. Orange leveraged the solution together with its International M2M Center, a global leader in borderless global M2M connectivity.

“We found that Orange Business Services was the best suited operator that could cope with our global requirements and can support us in our future growth,” said Marco Zancolo, Head of B2B Channel, Nestlé Nespresso S.A. “It was also very important for us to have a local team and presence here in Switzerland with M2M expertise.”

Orange Business Services is recognized by Frost & Sullivan and Berg Insight as the European leader in M2M growth. Along with its global network coverage, Orange has extensive global capabilities in solution design, systems integration, application development and device management. Orange has created M2M solutions in a wide spectrum of industry sectors including after-sales service solutions for equipment manufacturers, fleet management solutions for the logistics sector, security management solutions for surveillance, waste management for public communities, healthcare services, office equipment management solutions, solutions for the insurance sector enabling innovative car insurance plans, and public transport management solutions.

“We are very excited to support Nespresso, a company at the forefront of driving M2M innovation in its industry,” said Helmut Reisinger, senior vice president, Orange Business Services Europe. “Our proven expertise in implementing large complex projects and our experience in managing borderless connectivity provides a solid foundation for Nespresso’s plans to implement M2M connectivity aligned to their new B2B service strategy. Our robust infrastructure and methodology will significantly expedite the implementation and provide peace of mind for the customer.”
