Birch Communications Joins Hire One Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – Mar. 24, 2011– Birch Communications, a leading IP-based telecom and managed services provider to small- and medium-sized businesses, has joined the Hire One Atlanta movement.

Hire One Atlanta (H1A) is a joint effort among Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, the City of Atlanta, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and several local businesses, all united behind one simple goal: Put Atlantans back to work and reinvigorate the economy. According to the Hire One Atlanta web site, “The Hire One Atlanta initiative aims to get business leaders off the fence, hiring from the unemployment ranks and taking an active role in the future of our economy.”

“We recognize the talent Atlanta has to offer”, said Vincent Oddo, Birch president and CEO. “We believe that good people seeking work should be able to find careers that suit their abilities. Birch Communications is a growing company looking for talented, capable individuals. We are pleased to be part of the Hire One Atlanta effort.”

H1A posts that, according to one analyst, a single new hire can (on average) increase U.S. GDP by about $100,000. H1A hopes to “create 150,000 new jobs, greatly reduce unemployment, increase job security among Atlanta’s workforce and get back to growing our economy; increasing consumer and investor confidence; and creating a new cycle of spending, thus reinvigorating Atlanta’s economy and allowing businesses to expand.”

Birch Communications has joined the movement and believes together, the economic slowdown could turn around, and return Atlanta to the forefront of national leadership.

Birch Communications is celebrating 15 years of continued growth. The company has grown to over 400 employees today.
