Acme Packet enterprise session border controllers are now integrated into HP’s Unified Communications Solutions Portfolio

Enables delivery of UC solutions that are secure, reliable and protect client investments

BEDFORD, MA., JULY 25, 2011 — Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session delivery networks, today announced that HP has integrated the Acme Packet family of Net-Net® enterprise session border controllers (E-SBCs) into the HP Unified Communications (UC) Solutions Portfolio. By integrating Acme Packet E-SBCs, HP can deploy IP-based UC solutions that strengthen security, enhance reliability and interoperate with a wide range of UC infrastructure and communication service offerings.

HP has incorporated Acme Packet Net-Net E-SBCs into its portfolio of UC solutions, including HP’s new Voice Transformation and Virtual Workplace solutions announced today. Acme Packet E-SBCs address critical interoperability, service quality and security challenges that are encountered when using IP to deliver real-time voice, video and UC. The integrated solutions enable consolidation of communications services onto a unified IP network infrastructure without disruptive changes to existing applications, security compromises, or service interruptions.

“Instant-On enterprises require UC solutions that can be quickly deployed and rapidly adapt to meet the demands of a dynamic business environment,” said Imran Khan, vice president, HP Network Consulting. “Acme Packet session border controllers teamed with HP’s UC platform deliver highly scalable enterprise solutions that enable secure, reliable communications services for clients.”

HP selected the Acme Packet Net-Net E-SBC product family for its scalability, security, support for independent UC offerings and interoperability with legacy IP telephony infrastructures – enabling HP to protect client investments when adopting UC solutions.

Acme Packet offers a full portfolio of solutions for delivering interactive voice, video and unified communications across IP networks, enabling secure, reliable connectivity to SIP trunking services, communication with remote workers via the Internet and access to a range of hosted communications services.

“Our industry-leading E-SBC solutions combine support for Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Microsoft, Polycom and other leading UC solutions with a rich feature set,” said Dino Di Palma, senior vice president of worldwide sales and business development, Acme Packet. “This support complements HP’s world-class Unified Communications Solutions, which use a vendor-independent approach to architect and provide solutions that best suit client needs.”
