Overland Park, Kan., May 2, 2011– Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) and CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc (CBRE) have pioneered a 4G-based mobile solution that has doubled the efficiency of Sprint’s formerly time-consuming and costly commercial property inspections.
Sprint inspects 750-plus facilities annually. Each inspection has historically taken about 5 hours to complete or a total of 3,750 hours per year. By using an Android-based CB Richard Ellis mobile application on Sprint’s 4G network, inspectors complete each inspection in roughly 2 1/2 hours, doubling their efficiency.
The mobile application allows users to quickly fill out a site assessment questionnaire and take photos and videos on demand, making them easily — and instantly, via Sprint’s 4G network — accessible for viewing by the client’s Real Estate department.
With the time savings that comes with the new CB Richard Ellis application, organizations with thousands of facilities requiring multiple inspections per year can significantly cut costs due to increased efficiency.
The mobile application also has eliminated errors in the inspection process and allowed the client to make more efficient use of field agents to inspect stores across the country.
“We’ve partnered with CBRE for years, and consistently they’ve summoned the right solution for our business when we needed it,” said Brian Jordan, Director of Sprint Real Estate. “This latest retail app is another example. Their efforts – and ingenuity – on our behalf have always been key to Sprint’s achievements over the past couple years in improving customer experience, improving brand perception and increasing our profitability.”
“The combination of Sprint’s 4G network speed and the wonderful quality of the HTC EVO has combined to make our retail store inspection app a great success,” said Tim Dismond, Alliance Director at CBRE. “The quality of the video and the 8 megapixel camera has allowed our technicians to capture pictures and video of store facilities much more quickly than with a checklist and a regular camera. Capturing the condition of our facilities is a much more efficient and effective service that we are now able to provide to our client.”
