IRVINE, Calif. (BUSINESS WIRE), May 13, 2011 – Boost Mobile, ranked by J.D. Power and Associates as the Highest in Overall Customer Satisfaction with Non-Contract Wireless Service1, and Motorola Mobility Inc. (NYSE: MMI) add more variety to Boost’s handset line up with the announcement of three Motorola devices: Motorola Clutch + i475, Motorola TheoryTM and Motorola i412.

“We are telling our customers to ‘Be Heard’ and are addressing the needs of our loyal base of walkie-talkie users with these two new Motorola iDEN Series devices,” said Andre Smith, vice president, Boost Mobile. “Additionally, the Motorola Theory on the Nationwide Sprint Network is another affordable solution for customers looking for a broader data and messaging experience.”

“Motorola is excited to collaborate with Boost Mobile to extend the device options available for their no-contract customers,” said Jeff Miller, corporate vice president, Motorola Mobility. “Both stylish and affordable, these new devices enable consumers to get more out of their conversations whether over talk, text, email or IM.”

All three Motorola phones will be available with the Boost Mobile’s $50 Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage plan, where the longer you stay, the less you pay simply by making on-time payments. For every six on-time payments, a Boost Mobile customer’s monthly cost will shrink by $5, eventually getting down to as low as $35 a month for unlimited nationwide talk, text, Web, email, IM and calls to 411. Payments do not need to be consecutive to qualify for the next savings milestone.

The Next Generation Clutch – Instant Communication at Your Fingertips

Motorola Clutch + i475, the successor to the highly popular Motorola Clutch, is a candy-bar QWERTY device with a larger display screen for cost-conscious, text-heavy customers who want to get more out of their conversations with friends and family. With an improved keyboard for text messaging and walkie-talkie functionality, Clutch + i475 enables a better communication experience so customers can get the most from their wireless device.

Key features of the Clutch + i475 include threaded messaging for streamlined texting, Bluetooth® technology, Web and email access, VGA camera and GPS. The first of three new devices, Clutch + i475 is available now for $99.99 (excluding taxes) at Boost Mobile’s exclusive retail stores, select independent wireless dealer locations across the county and at www.boostmobile.com with free shipping. By the end of the month Clutch + i475 will be available in major retail outlets nationwide.

Motorola Theory – Merges Style and Enhanced Messaging Functionality

Motorola TheoryTM combines style and practicality with its premium design and enhanced messaging capability. Also a candy-bar QWERTY device, Theory – priced at $79.99 (excluding taxes) – offers consumers a sleek handset at an affordable price. Key features of Theory include a high-finish premium design, threaded messaging, Web and email access, Bluetooth® technology, 1.3MP camera and 2.4-inch QVGA.

The Theory handset will be available June 7 at Boost Mobile’s exclusive retails stores, select independent wireless dealer locations across the country and at www.boostmobile.com with free shipping. In late June, Theory will start rolling out in major retail outlets nationwide.

Motorola i412 – Simplicity for Those Who Love to Talk

The Motorola i412 is ideal for wireless users craving an uncomplicated phone for talking, texting and walkie-talkie functionality. The i412 enables instant communication through Boost Mobile’s nationwide walkie-talkie service, allowing consumers to connect with friends and family with a simple push of a button.

With its straightforward flip design, the i412 features iTap, a predictive text entry technology that helps customers send text messages in a flash. Additional key features include a VGA camera with zoom, Web access, GPS functionality, Java support for games and apps and Bluetooth® technology. The i412 will be available on June 13 for $69.99 (excluding taxes) at Boost Mobile’s exclusive retails stores, select independent wireless dealer locations across the country and at www.boostmobile.com with free shipping. In late June the i412 will be available in major retail outlets nationwide.

The Clutch + i475 and i412 are the latest walkie-talkie phones to offer push-to-talk (PTT) service operating on Sprint’s iDEN network, the fastest national push-to-talk network2. Last December, Sprint announced Network Vision, a multi-year initiative to provide an enhanced network experience for its customers that will include faster, more robust broadband PTT service. As part of that initiative, the company said at that time that it plans to continue to offer devices on the iDEN network into 2013 when it expects to begin to phase out iDEN cell sites as the newer push-to-talk broadband capabilities become more widely available on the company’s CDMA network.

International Connect and International Connect Plus

Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited customers now have more choice and flexibility to meet their international calling and texting needs with International Connect and International Connect Plus. For an additional $5 a month customers can add International Connect to their monthly plan and enjoy calling to landlines in more than 150 cities in Mexico, calls to Canada, and unlimited international text messages. Customers looking for additional countries can choose International Connect Plus, which includes the calling destinations in the International Connect plan plus unlimited calling to landlines in more than 35 countries including Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and Colombia. International Connect Plus is available on Monthly Unlimited plans for an additional $10 a month.
