700+ Global technology and digital infrastructure leaders from more than 50 countries to gather in Lisbon for the third edition of Atlantic Convergence
Lisbon, Portugal. DE-CIX, the world’s leading Internet Exchange (IX) operator, will host the third edition of Atlantic Convergence from September 29 to October 1, 2026, at Pátio da Galé in Lisbon, Portugal. Organized in partnership with AtlasEdge, EllaLink, Interfiber Networks, MEO Wholesale Solutions, and Nokia, the event will bring together CEOs from across the digital infrastructure value chain, alongside visionaries, policymakers, experts, and industry leaders from both sides of the Atlantic to explore how sustainable and secure digital infrastructure can power an AI-enabled future.
Under the theme “Building sustainable & secure digital infrastructures to power an AI-enabled future,” Atlantic Convergence 2026 will explore the opportunities and challenges of an AI-driven world.
Over the course of two days, attendees will explore what an AI-enabled future could look like, and which scenarios governments, researchers, and industry experts are considering regarding the impact of AI on economies, geopolitics, security, and society. Discussions will focus on the security, resilience, and sovereignty of critical digital infrastructure as AI adoption continues to accelerate. Sessions will cover topics including AI infrastructure, cloud, data centers, subsea connectivity, digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The full agenda is available here.
Unlike traditional industry conferences focused on a single segment of the digital ecosystem, Atlantic Convergence brings together every layer of digital infrastructure – from subsea cable operators and data centers to Internet Exchanges, cloud providers, AI innovators, investors, and policymakers.
More than 700 C-level attendees from over 580 companies and institutions representing 60 countries are expected to attend, fostering strategic dialogue on the future of connectivity and digital infrastructure across the Atlantic region. The event will feature more than 60 speakers across 45+ keynotes and Atlantic Café Talks. Among the distinguished lineup of international speakers are executives from DE-CIX, NVIDIA, Oracle, Nokia, BT Group, Interfiber Networks, MEO, EllaLink, Merlin Properties, Siemens Energy and other organizations shaping the future of digital infrastructure.
“AI is redefining what digital infrastructure must deliver. From subsea cables and data centers to cloud platforms, interconnection, and space-enabled networks, the foundations of our digital future are being reimagined today,” said Ivo Ivanov, CEO of DE-CIX. “Atlantic Convergence is where the people building this future come together. Lisbon provides the perfect setting to exchange ideas, forge new partnerships, and shape the next generation of sustainable and secure digital infrastructure. For anyone involved in building the digital infrastructure that will power the AI era, Atlantic Convergence is simply the place to be.”
A Pan-Atlantic Nexus for Innovation and Collaboration
As the Atlantic region emerges as a strategic corridor for global digital and AI growth, Portugal is strengthening its role as a key gateway connecting Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The momentum is evident: according to Infrastructure Minister Miguel Pinto Luz, more than 40 data center projects are currently seeking approval in Portugal, while the country’s data center sector could contribute up to €26.2 billion to GDP by 2030. Against this backdrop, Atlantic Convergence has become the meeting place for the organizations shaping the next generation of global digital infrastructure, providing a platform for collaboration, innovation, and strategic dialogue across the Atlantic region.
