TEL AVIV, Israel – February 17, 2026 – PacketLight Networks has been named an Outstanding Honoree in the 2026 Lightwave Innovation Review for two of its newest optical transport platforms: the PL-8000G 8T / 10×800G Transponder and the PL-2000FC 4×64G Fibre Channel Transponder.
Selected by an independent panel of optical networking experts, both solutions were recognized for innovation, performance, and impact on next-generation transport networks.
The PL-8000G delivers up to 8Tbps of capacity in a compact 1U platform, supporting 800GbE, 400GbE, and 100GbE services over high-capacity 800G DWDM wavelengths. Designed for metro, and DCI applications, it integrates EDFA and optical switching to reduce footprint, power consumption, and cost per bit, while simplifying architecture and enabling seamless, modular network scaling as capacity grows.
Lightwave judges described the platform as: “A market-leading high-density transponder solution… [that] will move the needle for metro and regional transport applications.”
The PL-2000FC delivers high-performance optical transport in storage networks, enabling 4×64G Fibre Channel services over OTN and dark fiber infrastructure. The solution provides deterministic, ultra low-latency SAN and data center interconnect connectivity, along with clear demarcation between client and optical layers, ideal for mission-critical environments such as financial services, healthcare, government, and AI-driven environments. The device can mitigate between the SAN network and any Optical transport system of any vendor.
Both platforms are fully standards-based and vendor-neutral, ensuring interoperability across third-party DWDM and OTN systems while eliminating vendor lock-in and preserving long-term network flexibility.
Sean Buckley, Editor in Chief of Lightwave, said: “This competitive program showcases the most innovative products and technologies that significantly impact the industry. Congratulations to PacketLight on achieving Outstanding Honoree status.”
Koby Reshef, CEO of PacketLight: “As bandwidth demand accelerates across AI, cloud, and high-performance storage environments, customers need scalable capacity without sacrificing control, interoperability or efficiency, and reducing cost per bit. These awards validate our commitment to delivering high-density, open optical transport platforms built for real-world network evolution.”
PacketLight will showcase both award-winning solutions at OFC 2026, including a live production-grade demo of the PL-8000G 8T/10x800G.
