HOUSTON, Texas (Feb. 2, 2026) – Texas-based Lyte Fiber, LLC (“Lyte”), is charging into 2026 as one of Texas’ fastest-growing broadband providers. Driven by extensive community-wide buildouts and large-scale strategic public-private partnerships, the company is bridging the digital divide with reliable, all-weather fiber built for the state’s most underserved communities.
“2025 was a defining year where we proved that a Texas-based company can compete and win on the largest broadband stages,” said CEO Carter Old. “We started the year with serviceable locations about to go live in our first market and ended it with nearly 25,000 locations served and over 3,000 active residential and business customers across four regions and seven markets. I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished last year, and we are on track to double our buildout pace in 2026. Furthermore, we are not just laying fiber, we are delivering generational, carrier-grade communications networks to communities that have been overlooked for too long.”
Lyte transitioned from buildout to live service in multiple markets, lighting its first customer homes and businesses in Baytown, Kingsville, Marshall, Beeville, Uvalde, Jefferson, and Sinton while advancing construction in Pearsall, Carrizo Springs, Crystal City, and Marion County. Substantial market expansion across Texas will continue in 2026, with more markets to be announced throughout the year.
Lyte’s networks feature underground construction where feasible, redundant ring architecture, embedded generator-backed power systems at critical points, XGS-PON infrastructure, multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds, and Eero Wi-Fi 7 gateways, all designed for decades of reliable service and exceptional resilience in all kinds of weather conditions Texans encounter.
Throughout 2025, the company also established regional headquarters in Marshall, Beeville, and Uvalde to ensure long-term local presence, efficient operations, and responsive Texas-based customer support. Key hires, including respected local leaders, have strengthened community relationships.
In addition to its privately-funded buildouts, Lyte preliminarily secured in 2025 one of the largest Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program awards in Texas – $142 million across seven counties – making it the third-largest BEAD recipient in the state. Paired with nearly $40 million in private matching funds, these projects will deliver multi-gigabit fiber to 9,670 unserved and underserved locations.
The company also received significant awards through Texas’s BOOT II Program, including nearly $58 million for Marion and Navarro Counties. These initiatives alone support nearly 900 miles of fiber, reaching 6,741 rural locations.
“Winning these awards is a vote of confidence in our ability to build where others haven’t,” Old said. “The grants we have secured are more than just dollars; it’s a promise to these communities that they will no longer be on the wrong side of the digital divide.”
Beyond connectivity, Lyte’s investments have driven measurable economic benefits. Local leaders in Navarro and Marion Counties credit the company’s deployments with spurring job growth, attracting new businesses, and enhancing regional competitiveness.
Through its 1 percent annual community giveback pledge, Lyte supports schools, educators, first responders, food pantries, and civic organizations. In 2025, the company sponsored numerous events, such as Palomino Fest (Uvalde) and Ranch Hand Weekend (Kingsville), contributed to Blue Santa toy drives, and supported local food pantries and school districts.
Looking ahead, Lyte will continue expanding fiber infrastructure in overlooked areas, including BOOT II and BEAD-funded counties, leveraging its regional headquarters and proven operational model to drive steady, sustainable growth.
“Our growth in 2026 isn’t just about locations served and miles of fiber laid; it’s about the opportunities we’re unlocking for Texans who have been left behind in the digital age,” Old said. “By combining the agility of our team with the strength of public-private partnerships, we are building a storm-resilient foundation that ensures rural communities remain connected, no matter what the future holds.”
