DE-CIX, one of the world’s leading Internet Exchange (IX) operators, today announced that its Google Gold Verified Peering Provider (VPP) service is now live in its IXs in New York, Dallas, Chicago, and Phoenix. With the implementation this week of its service in New York and Dallas, DE-CIX has now made the service available in all of its major U.S. IXs. Through DE-CIX Dallas, networks connected to DE-CIX Mexico can also consume the service.
The Verified Peering Provider program identifies Internet service providers (ISPs) and IXs that have demonstrated diverse and reliable connectivity to Google’s network and met specific technical requirements and performance standards outlined by Google. For Google customers, whether a small business, a large enterprise, or somewhere in between, choosing a Verified Peering Provider helps ensure that their connection to Google is as available as possible.
Smaller North American ISPs and network operators unable to fulfill Google’s peering requirements can now tap DE-CIX’s expertise and resources to help ensure ongoing connectivity to Google services, resources, and workloads on Google Cloud. Networks can use DE-CIX’s simplified Layer-3 connectivity to help ensure uninterrupted access to Google services.
DE-CIX’s offer of enterprise-grade connectivity to Google means wholesale networks can use DE-CIX’s Verified Peering Provider status to provide continued access to Google’s services for their customers. It also means enterprises accessing Google Workspace or consuming SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) or other Internet-facing applications hosted on Google Cloud can gain direct access to reliable and dedicated connectivity to support their business operations through the IX operator.
