Closing the digital divide in the Show-Me State, where less than half have fiber service access*
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — September 9, 2025 — Today, Brightspeed, the nation’s third-largest fiber broadband builder and provider of the country’s fastest internet service, as determined by HighSpeedInternet.com’s Annual Service Provider Review 2025, announced the completion of its fiber network build in Canton, Monroe City and Palmyra, Missouri. Now, 4,500 locations are fiber-enabled in those communities. Brightspeed fiber network deployment
Brightspeed is determined to close the digital gap for families, remote workers, students and businesses in northeast Missouri. Once the company’s full fiber network buildout in Lewis, Marion, Monroe and Shelby counties is complete, nearly 7,400 families and businesses will have access to Brightspeed’s multi-gig-speed fiber internet service.
Currently, the company’s fiber network construction is underway in Paris. Construction in Clarence, La Belle and Shelbina will begin once the company’s permitting process is complete. This table shows how many fiber locations Brightspeed has planned in these four communities where residents and business owners will soon have the option to upgrade their outdated copper service to reliable, state-of-the-fiber connectivity:
