1Finity transforms optical network service delivery for the AI era

T700 neutral host transponder unleashes multi-vendor pluggable performance, driving economic flexibility and sustainable growth for AI demand on networks

August 19, 2025 — 1Finity, a Fujitsu company and leading global network solutions provider, today announced support for next-generation 800G pluggable transceivers in its T700 modular transponder platform. The upgraded T700 can serve as a neutral host platform, enabling service providers to deploy pluggable technologies from any vendor anywhere in their networks. This streamlines approval processes -reducing them by up to 78 percent – and facilitates faster, more flexible, and sustainable network operations regardless of space constraints.

Faced with soaring demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, network operators require higher capacity, energy-efficient infrastructure and multi-vendor flexibility to manage costs and win new business. The T700 neutral host pluggable transponder directly addresses these challenges with its high density, modular, open architecture. It enables use of any vendors’ standards-compliant 800G coherent pluggable transceivers resulting in 30 percent power savings and up to 35 percent lower cost per bit compared to previous generation pluggables.

With support for 8x 800G pluggable network transceivers in just one rack unit (RU), the T700 doubles the capacity of alternative discrete optics options thereby cutting rack space requirements by 50 percent. This flexible neutral host platform offers unparalleled versatility, supporting transponder/muxponder, customer premise equipment (CPE) demarcation and repeater applications. By consolidating these functions, service providers can significantly cut spares inventory by 50 percent.

“The T700 neutral host platform represents a strategic advancement, offering a massive leap in performance, flexibility, and density. By leveraging next-generation pluggable optics, it ensures superior power efficiency and drives substantial reductions in overall TCO,” said Hideki Matsui, SVP, Head of Photonics System Business Unit at 1Finity. “We are reinventing ‘pluggable economics’ to meet the most demanding challenges of the AI era. The T700 transforms optical service delivery accelerating the transition to next-generation optical networks for a more sustainable, scalable path forward.”

Key Benefits of the T700 Platform:

  • True multi-vendor platform: The neutral host platform accepts standards-compliant client and network pluggables from any vendor, expediting pluggable approvals up to 78 percent to speed deployment and maximizing supply chain resiliency.
  • Boosted pluggable economics: Delivers up to 30 percent power savings and a 35 percent lower cost-per-bit by leveraging next-generation pluggable optics, minimizing TCO.
  • High density: Provides 8x 800G of network capacity in a 1RU chassis, doubling the density of competing discrete optics platforms which reduces physical footprint by 50 percent.
  • Operational versatility: A single platform supports multiple use cases — including transponder/ muxponder in service provider networks, CPE demarcation and high-density regeneration — cutting spares inventory up to 50 percent and optimizing flexibility.
  • Open and manageable: Features open management interfaces for easy integration into existing network ecosystems. When paired with 1Finity’s Virtuora Network Controller, the T700 offers simple and seamless multi-vendor network management.
