The “Ericsson Educate: 21st century technologies” program, launched earlier this academic year, provided students with access to cutting-edge knowledge and global expertise, playing a key role in supporting the country’s digital transformation journey.

The program marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between academia and industry, reinforcing UTM’s position as a leader in engineering education while highlighting Ericsson’s commitment to nurturing future talent and bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world digital industry demands. The recently concluded initiative featured a rich and diversified agenda, covering a wide range of topics relevant to the technology industry, including: 5G, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Blockchain, Data Science, Automation, and Telecommunications.

“The enthusiasm and engagement of the students have been extraordinary,” said Victor Cordu, Country Manager at Ericsson Moldova. “We are proud to see the tangible impact this program has made. It’s not only about transferring knowledge but about building a future-ready workforce for Moldova and beyond.”

The collaboration between Ericsson and UTM has been widely celebrated as a best practice in aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of the ICT industry. The success of the Ericsson Educate program reflects the shared commitment to innovation, excellence, and capacity-building.

“This initiative has not only enriched the educational experience of our students but has opened up new horizons for their future careers,” said Prof. Dr. Habil. Viorel Bostan, Rector of the Technical University of Moldova. “Together with Ericsson, we are helping shape Moldova’s digital future.” In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, Associate Professor Dr. Lilia Sava, said: “Such partnerships represent a good practice example of collaboration between academic and the private sector. The direct beneficiaries are the students – future engineers who will contribute to digital transformation and the modernization of national infrastructure. We express our gratitude to Ericsson for their openness and consistency in supporting the development of a new generation of professionals.”

Ericsson Educate is part of Ericsson’s global “Connect To Learn” initiative, which aims to democratize access to digital education and tackle emerging technology topics that are shaping our world. Through Connect To Learn, Ericsson empowers young people around the globe to engage with future-defining technologies and pursue careers in ICT, contributing to the formation of a new generation of digital leaders.
